Renewing cooperation with India in the field of petroleum

Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Dr. Mohieddin Naeem Mohamed Saeed, discussed in his office today with the Indian Ambassador to Sudan the resumption of cooperation between Sudan and India in the petroleum sector. This came upon receiving an invitation from India to participate in the Indian Energy Week, to be held in New Delhi next February. He confirmed the ministry’s participation with a high-level delegation of technical and financial personnel. He noted that this visit is an opportune opportunity to meet with officials from the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) to discuss opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in the petroleum sector. It is worth noting that the Indian company has been operating in Sudan in the field of oil exploration and production, and India is one of the first partners in extracting Sudanese oil with China.
